Florence

This was the third city I was visiting in Italy and I was a little nervous coming from Positano and Rome of how Florence was going to stand out, but it definitely did.  The beauty of Florence immediately popped along with the incredible sights like The David and the Duomo, and with many of the restaurants.  Florence definitely brought me the best sandwich I have ever had, one of my favorite sunsets I have ever seen, and my first sighting of a wedding proposal.  All of these factors and more made Florence an incredible experience, however I did enjoy Rome and Positano more if I absolutely had to rank the cities.

• Things to Do and Reviews

  • Duomo and Bell Tower

    • Honestly the Duomo was underwhelming but the bell tower, while like 400 steps high, obviously gave an incredible view of the city

• • Piazza Michelangelo for sunset

    • This was one of my favorite things we did

    • Located at the top of a hill, tons of people come every night so see the sunset over the whole city

    • Multiple carts selling all beer, wine, and snacks

    • Don’t be surprised if you see someone propose here, we came two nights in a row and I saw a proposal

    • One of the most incredible things I have ever seen, an absolute must

    • Buy tickets ahead of time and expect a decently long wait to enter the gallery with or without tickets

  • Gusta Pizza

    • Great pizza on the other side of the river

    • Highly recommend the pesto pizza and the calzone

• • Al Antico Vinaio

    • The most famous sandwich place on Tik Tok, it lives up to the hype

    • Go at 11:30 for decently short lines, but go later than 12:30 and you are waiting a long time in the sun

    • Incredible sandwiches that we had to get twice, highly recommend waiting in line, you will not be dissapointed

    • Super hyped up and definitely great food, but not to the level I thought it would be

    • The rigatoni al sorento was possibly the best single pasta we had all trip, must get!!!

    • Absolutely need a reservation

    • If you do go, the steak for two is absolutely massive but so delicious
