Barcelona

This is easily one of my top three cities I have ever been to.  The combination of the food, nightlife, beauty of the city, and amount of things to do and see actually made me imagine moving there and wanting to at some point in the future.  The different clubs paired with the incredible dinners including paella and many tapas made each night standout in a unique and different way, and this city is just constantly exciting.  On top of all of these highlights is that Barcelona Beach Festival was on the dates we were in the city, and that was 1000% a top three night of my life.  I want to come back to Barcelona as soon as possible as this city is truly a must visit for everyone at some point.

  • Stay

    • Pension Casa Blaca: Link

    • Next time: Would definitely stay here again

  • Things to Do and Reviews

    • La Boqueria Market

      • Insanely big market with tons of different stations for fruit, meat, and sweets so go hungry to try everything

      • Have to try Jamon Iberico (Iberian Ham)

        • Special ham from Spain which is like the top of the top age and flavor

    • Parque de la Ciutadella

      • Beautiful park to walk around in and possibly picnic or rent a row boat

      • Right next to Arc de Triomph so kill two birds with one stone

    • Parque de Montjuic

      • Plaza de Espanya

        • Consists of the Arenas

        • Huge shopping mall, I think biggest in Barcelona

      • Four Columns

        • Just a landmark in front of the (NAMC)

      • National Art Museum of Catalonia

        • Beautiful museum with ancient catalonian art which is unlike any art museum you’ve been to

        • Only need like 45 minutes to go through it, not super big

      • Palace of Montjuic

      • Didn’t go but on the same hill as everything so should definitely check it out

    • Bunkers del Carmel

      • Beautiful area that is connected to Parc Guell and was a beautiful place to watch sunset that offered a 360 panoramic view of the city

    • Parc Guell

      • I got there a couple minutes after closing but one of the most famous parks due to its unique architecture so should definitely go

    • Mount Tibidabo

      • Super sick mountain that has the most incredible view of the city, but it is basically an amusement park for children with different rides

      • I really enjoyed going but takes around 45 minutes with bus and train up so if you have the time

      • Incredible spot for sunset as well, I think there was a mountain blocking the final part at Bunkers del Carmel but pretty sure if you’re at Tibidabo then you can see the ending of sunset

    • La Sagrada Familia

      • Incredible church that we couldn’t go in to because we didn’t buy tickets in advance and they were sold out for the day, so buy tickets at least a day or two in advance

    • Cathedral De Barcelona

      • Just something to see but definitely cool and always has a little market of antique pop-ups outside of it

    • Barceloneta

      • Cool path along the water with many restaurants and bars to check out

      • Watched sunrise here one morning after Razzmatazz closed

    • La Rambla

      • One of the main streets in the city, fun to just walk down and see all of the shops

    • Barcelona Beach Festival

      • So this just happened to be on one of the days we were in Barcelona (July 2), but it was basically the best day of all of our lives so if you can plan your trip to be there for this you 1000000% should

  • Breakfast Places and Reviews

    • Cremat 11

      • One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had, everything was incredible

      • The eggs benedict royale, breakfast burger, steak and eggs, and banana pancakes were all amazing

      • Orange juice is extra extra pulpy so be prepared if you want that

    • Milk Bar & Bistro

      • Awesome breakfast place that’s small so possibly expect a wait

      • The chorizo hash is one of the best breakfast items I’ve ever had

    • Federal Cafe

      • Solid breakfast place but definitely recommend the first two over this

  • Lunch Places and Reviews

    • Bodega Biarritz 1881Tapas Bar

      • Absolutely WOW, we all said this is one of the best meals we have ever had

      • We got the surprise menu for 3 people and every single thing was insanely good

      • If you are ordering individual items, my favorites were the chorizo, the ham and cheese pastry, the filet mignon in mushroom sauce, and the goat cheese and pesto pastry

      • Mango mojito was amazing

  • Dinner Places and Reviews

    • La Alcoba-Azul

      • Another amazing tapas restaurant

      • My favorite of everything we ordered was tbe goat cheese stuffed red peppers of the brie tosta

      • The lamb tosta and the Iberian Pork were also very good, but stay away from the potato with aioli because they literally give you two whole potatoes just drenched in sauce, much better things available

    • Can Sole

      • This was my first ever paella but WOW it was actually incredible and definitely recommend!!

      • The clams appetizer was also insanely good

  • Dessert/Late Night Eats

    • Gelaaati Di Marco

      • Great gelato place where my favorite was the biscoff crunch

    • Amorino

      • Another great gelato place that is across Spain and my favorite flavor was Carmello

    • Pizza Del Born

      • Really good thick pizza that stays open until 2:30 with tons of variety

      • I loved the spicy sausage and the white pizza

  • Best Bars/Clubs

    • Razzmatazz

      • Really fun place with tons of rooms but is mostly filled with high schoolers

      • People don’t really drink there…..most people just roll

      • Make sure to buy tickets at least a day or two in advance (especially for Thursday, Friday, or Saturday) because they do sell out

      • We went on Thursday which is a special like throwbacks party so really fun to dance and roll to
